Camp Champs is a parent pay summer program for students in special education entering grades 1-8.
It is designed to provide reinforcement skills in academic and social areas. All of the sessions will have daily rotations, which include: language arts (reading/writing), math, and social skills. The students, along with peer role models, will also eat lunch together, read aloud, and enjoy indoor/outdoor large group games.
*REGISTRATION: Registration is currently open for WDMCS students and opens for all others May 17.
This program is a parent pay option and does not qualify as extended school year service.
I currently serve as the Behavior Interventionist at Hillside Elementary School and previously at Fairmeadows Elementary School. Prior to that I was a special education teacher for 16 years at Jordan Creek Elementary School . I enjoy teaching Camp Champs because we continue to provide academic and social experiences throughout the summer to students within the district.
This is my 12th year as a support staff member for the WDM Community Schools. I have worked at Stilwell, Jordan Creek and Hillside. I enjoy Camp Champs because it gives me an opportunity to continue to build relationships and traditions each ongoing summer.
I am going into my 3rd year of teaching special education at Fairmeadows Elementary School. I enjoy teaching Camp Champs to get to know students across the district and to provide an inclusive summer environment.
