    Parenting Teens

    Have you felt backed into a corner because you are frustrated with your teen? This session will give you the skills and tools you need to solve common problems encountered with teenagers. Participants will explore ways to help teens make better decisions, how to respond calmly in difficult situations, ways to get them to help around the house without nagging, and also setting limits that are fair and understandable. Course taught by Aaron Herman, director of community based services with Stepping Stone Family Services.

    Transitioning to Junior High

    Starting junior high is a big and exciting step for WDMCS students! It’s also a big step for parents, as your student enters a new environment with a new set of challenges. This class will answer your questions and share important tips to help your student succeed in their first year of junior high. Topics will include social/emotional health, academics, developmental characteristics, and general WDMCS information. Class taught by Sarah Willoughby, Learning Supports & Family Engagement Coordinator.
