Build a paddle boat, a bird house, trophy stand and garden tote. Builders will learn to measure, cut, sand, paint and then take home each project they build. This Youth Enrichment League (YEL!) class educates students on the use of basic tools (hammers, nails, screwdriver, measuring tape, t-square and more). SAFETY IS OUR FIRST PRIORITY. No power tools will be used in class. Class led by YEL! NOTE: Participants should be comfortable cutting using a small saw as well as using other hand tools. Students should wear clothes that can get paint on them. Registration Deadline A $25 late registration fee will be charged if you register less than one week before the program’s start date. The {YEL!} Project Runway Sewing Camp follows four basic principles: •Teach It!…Students are taught multiple hand and machine sewing techniques; •Practice It!… Students practice those techniques on basic projects; •Sew It!…Students increase their skill and sew more complicated projects; •Own It!…Students showcase their projects on the last day of class (family and friends are invited), then take everything home with them to walk the runway of everyday life! STEM Video Game Enrichment for the 21st Century learner. Each {YEL!} Coding class follows three basic components:•Teach It!…Students learn different video game and storytelling design techniques (movement blocks, control blocks, basic animation, adding scores, etc.) •Code It!… Students use Scratch® to code their own story and video games. •Explore It!…Students can write their own story and video game code, experiment with it and test new options.
