Junior High - Online Safety Class for Parents


Parent Quest -
Classes: Spring 2026

This two part class is geared towards the technology that your junior high student may be using. This class will equip parents with the tools to navigate technology safely. 

February 26, 2026 - Parents and devices are welcome

Focus areas include:

  • Feeling more confident having conversations with your child about online safety
  • Understanding online risks and the potential legal consequences of technology use
  • Learning why parental controls and regular check-ins are important
  • Get resources to continue learning

March 5, 2026 - Parents are encouraged to bring devices and their students.

For Parents:

  • Get hands-on help setting up parental controls
  • Ask questions and troubleshoot technology concerns

For Students (Grades 6–8):

  • Learn to make smart and safe choices online—and understand what can happen when things go wrong
  • Understand how to have honest conversations with parents and trusted adults about technology
  • Discuss real-life issues such as social media, cyberbullying, gaming, AI, and more

This class uses research based materials from netsmartz.com. Class led by Jodi Tschudin, Youth Justice Initiative (YJI).
