These courses are offered through our partnership with Youth Enrichment League (YEL). It is an exciting opportunity for any student who is into gaming and coding. The cost includes all materials.

Please remember that participation in Community Education programs is voluntary. Students are expected to act respectfully throughout their participation. Community Education reserves the right to remove a student from a program at any time if they display inappropriate or unsafe behaviors.

Cancellation Policy

If you are unable to take the class you can request a refund before the second day of class. There will be a $25 deduction from any refunds except programs canceled by Community Ed.

  • Video Game Creation - Force Warriors: Heroes of the Rebellion, Grades 1-3

    The legend of the Force Warriors lives on...through you! Students design their own Knights of the Rebellion, chart a course across the galaxy, and create their own epic duel with the infamous Dark Knight. Students leave class with their own video game creations. Class led by YEL! Registration Deadline A $25 late registration fee will be charged if you register less than one week before the program’s start date.   • Coding Animation and Video Games, Grades 1-3

    STEM Video Game Enrichment for the 21st Century learner. Each {YEL!} Coding class follows three basic components:•Teach It!…Students learn different video game and storytelling design techniques (movement blocks, control blocks, basic animation, adding scores, etc.) •Code It!… Students use Scratch® to code their own story and video games. •Explore It!…Students can write their own story and video game code, experiment with it and test new options. Our collaborative learning environment encourages students to learn from each other. Sign up today to THINK, LEARN and PLAY WELL with {YEL!}. Scratch® is an MIT created and monitored, kid-safe web interface. It uses a drag and drop programming interface to teach students of all levels coding practices. Class led by YEL!
