Participants will gain insights into college visits, optimal application timing, and strategies for securing scholarships and financial aid, ensuring a well-rounded approach to college readiness.     Starting kindergarten is a big step for everyone! Fortunately, there's a lot you can do to help your child prepare. In this class, taught by WDMCS kindergarten teachers, you will learn about what goes on during the school day, have a chance to ask questions, and take home some great ideas to engage your child through reading and play. Course taught by WDMCS kindergarten teachers, Jennifer Waring and Ann Apland. Please note: this class is for adults only.
  • Parenting Teens

    This session is designed for parents seeking effective strategies to navigate the challenges of raising teenagers. Participants will gain essential skills and tools to address common issues, fostering better decision-making in their teens, while promoting respectful communication. This session emphasizes calm responses to disrespectful behavior, encourages cooperative household contributions without the need for nagging, and provides guidance on establishing fair and comprehensible limits. Join us to empower your parenting approach and enhance your relationship with your adolescent. Class led by Jenna Schlawin.
  • Transitioning to Junior High

    Starting junior high is a big and exciting step for WDMCS students! It’s also a big step for parents, as your student enters a new environment with a different set of challenges. This class will answer your questions and share important tips to help your student succeed in their first year of junior high. Topics will include social/emotional health, academics, developmental characteristics, and general WDMCS information. Class taught by school counselor, Lindsey Cunningham.

    Hospice is a misunderstood Medicare benefit. In fact, many people don't learn about hospice until a doctor is recommending it, for themselves or their loved one. At that time, it may be too late to do research or understand what you are signing up for. We want you to have the education and knowledge to prepare you for the road ahead.
