    Join us for a week of different daily art adventures and see how creative you can be! This summer, we will be exploring a variety of different mediums, and engaging in creative exploration.     Bring your imagination to this art camp! Be ready to explore multiple art-making processes. We will engage in printmaking, sewing, collage, and graffiti art. Students will be immersed in an art camp that will involve critical thinking and lots of creativity!   • Band Bash: 6th Grade Band Camp

    This one week, 2 hour/day program gives younger band students the chance to continue developing skills on their instrument over the summer. Students will practice songs as a full band, break up in groups based on instruments to get more focused attention, and enjoy other fun activities that will build community and teamwork. The elementary band camp will conclude with a brief concert for families on June 14 at 1:30 p.m. Cancellation Policy If you are unable to take the class you can request a refund before the second day of class.   • Band Bash: 7th-8th Grade Rehearsal Band

    This two-week program meets for one hour each day and gives instrumental music students the opportunity to develop their rhythmic skills, strengthen their tone and playing technique, and polish their music reading skills in preparation for the school year. A concert will be held June 21 at 12:15 p.m. at Indian Hills Junior High. Cancellation Policy If you are unable to take the class you can request a refund before the second day of class.     Over a 5-week period, students will have weekly 30-minute lessons, with the goal of helping students grow in their skills and prepare for more advanced study. Lessons will be taught by Amanda Thomas. Lessons will be taught in person. Please note: It is the responsibility of the students/families to follow through with their lessons.   • Be the Boss! Grades 5-6

    Students will learn about entrepreneurship firsthand through a variety of highly interactive classroom activities, and tours of local businesses! They will learn to make money doing something they love by: Meeting & learning from successful entrepreneurs Designing business cards and flyers Going through the process of planning and implementing a business idea At the end of the camp, families will be invited to attend a business fair showcasing the students’ creative ideas and hard work!   • Camp Champs

    Camp Champs is a parent pay summer program for students in special education entering grades 1-9. Camp Champs is designed to provide reinforcement skills in academic and social areas. All of the sessions will have daily rotations, which include: language arts (reading/writing), math, and social skills. Students, along with peer role models, will also eat snack together, read aloud, and enjoy indoor/outdoor large group games. If you have not participated in Camp Champs previously please contact Katie Hoover at hooverk@wdmcs.org, prior to enrollment, to make sure your child is eligible for the program. Scholarships Scholarships are based on financial need and are available to assist WDMCS students with tuition for most programs. Students must attend school, or live within the WDMCS district boundaries. You can fill out the request by clicking here. This program is a parent pay option and does not qualify as extended school year service.

You may choose any site that works for you and are not restricted to your child’s home school, but please only register for one.

  • Chemical Magic, Grades 3-4

    Are you interested in learning about "substances" and "chemical reactions." Students will see that chemical reactions enable us to make new materials by transforming the ones we have. The results of these reactions are interesting and can be very useful. Students will determine whether magic potions are real and explore whether a person can transform something worthless into gold.     Deep Sea Adventures (AM), Grades 1-2

    Join us for a deep sea adventure! We'll go on imaginative underwater explorations to study the ocean and its incredible creatures. Each day, we'll dive into a variety of hands-on activities that will immerse us in the wonders of the sea. Session taught by JinHee Anderson.   • Destination Mars: Rocketry Course, Grades 3-5

    Launch and watch your very own rocket speed 300 feet into the air! Then it is yours to take home! Students will make and take home multiple rockets of varying difficulty throughout this session. We will use these rockets and airplanes to investigate basic aeronautical concepts including: propulsion, thrust, lift, drag and more. We will also hypothesize about travel in outer space, how to get a United States astronaut to Mars and life on Mars. Do you have the right stuff?     Explore the Rainforest (PM), Grades 1-2

    Have you ever wondered what it's like to go to a rainforest? Join us to learn about the different types of rainforests, animals, plants, and what it would take to survive in a rainforest!   • Jump Start, Grades 1-5

    Jump Start is a fun week filled with activities designed to help students prepare for the upcoming school year. Each morning will be spent refreshing students’ math, reading, and writing skills, while the afternoons will be filled with art, P.E., and science! This is an all-day program with lunch and recess scheduled mid-day. Food is not provided, so please have your child bring a sack lunch. If weather permits, recess will be outside, so please put sunscreen on your child before Jump Start.     Junior Zoologist (PM), Grades 1-2

    Take on the role of a Zoologist and explore an animal of your choice and learn about the lifestyle and habitat of that animal. Student Zoologists will be using kid-friendly websites, books, zoo watch cams from the Smithsonian's National Zoo website, and other popular zoos. Zoologists will collect data on the animal's behavior and create a graph to explain their data. Zoologists will create a poster that shares their learning to take home at the end of the week! Students will make, showcase, and take home all their projects. Students are taught multiple hand and machine sewing techniques are taught with SAFETY FIRST always in mind.
